Ingredients
  

  • 2 shots (2 oz) espresso or 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee
  • 2 tablespoons pumpkin puree
  • 1-2 tablespoons brown sugar or maple syrup
  • 1/2 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk any type
  • 2 tablespoons whipped cream optional
  • Pinch of cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice for garnish

Instructions
 

  • Brew your espresso or strong coffee and pour into a large mug.
  • In a small saucepan over medium heat, combine pumpkin puree, sweetener, and pumpkin pie spice.
  • Stir the mixture for about 2 minutes until the spices become fragrant and the sweetener dissolves.
  • Add milk to the saucepan and whisk continuously while heating until hot but not boiling.
  • Remove from the heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  • Use a frother, whisk, or blender to froth the milk mixture until foamy.
  • Pour the pumpkin-milk mixture over your coffee and stir gently.
  • Top with whipped cream and a sprinkle of pumpkin spice or cinnamon if desired.

Notes

For a dairy-free version, substitute with oat milk or almond milk. The pumpkin mixture can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator for up to one week. For an iced version, cool the pumpkin milk mixture and pour over iced coffee.
