Ingredients

  • 1-2 shot s Espresso, freshly brewed
  • 1 cup Milk dairy or non-dairy
  • 1 tbsp Honey adjust to taste
  • 1 tsp Dried Culinary Lavender Buds
  • 1/4 cup Water
  • Optional: 1/4 tsp Vanilla Extract

Instructions

  • Make Syrup: In a small saucepan, gently heat water, honey, lavender buds, and vanilla (if using) over low heat until honey dissolves and mixture is warm. Do not boil.
  • Steep: Remove the saucepan from the heat. Let the lavender buds steep in the warm syrup for 15 minutes to infuse the flavor.
  • Strain: Pour the syrup through a fine mesh strainer into a small bowl or cup, discarding the lavender buds.
  • Brew Espresso: Prepare 1 or 2 shots of espresso using your preferred method.
  • Steam Milk: Heat the milk in a saucepan or using a milk frother until hot and steamy. Froth if desired.
  • Combine: Pour the desired amount of lavender honey syrup (start with 1-2 tbsp) into your favorite mug. Add the hot espresso and stir gently.
  • Add Milk: Pour the steamed milk over the espresso mixture. Hold back the froth with a spoon, then spoon the froth on top.
  • Serve: Garnish with a few extra lavender buds if you like, and enjoy your homemade honey lavender latte immediately!

Notes

  • Use good-quality honey and ensure your lavender is culinary grade (safe for eating).
  • Avoid steeping the lavender for much longer than 15 minutes, as it can become bitter.
  • Adjust the amount of honey syrup added to the latte to reach your desired sweetness.
  • Warming your mug beforehand keeps the latte hot longer.
