Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup cranberry juice
  • 1/2 cup sparkling beverage (Sprite, 7-UP, ginger ale, or sparkling lemonade)
  • Ice cubes
  • sugared cranberries optional, for garnish
  • lemon slices optional, for garnish
  • rosemary sprig optional, for garnish

Instructions

  • Fill glass with ice: Pack your glass full of ice cubes. You want it really cold from the start.
  • Pour cranberry juice: Measure out 1/2 cup cranberry juice and pour it over the ice. Your glass should be halfway full now.
  • Add sparkling beverage: Pour 1/2 cup sparkling beverage slowly on top of the juice. This keeps all those lovely bubbles intact.
  • Stir gently: Take your spoon and give it a soft stir. Mix the juice and soda together without going crazy.
  • Garnish and serve: Drop in sugared cranberries, add a lemon slice, and stick in a rosemary sprig. Serve it while it's still fizzy!

Notes

  • Need more drinks? Just multiply everything by however many people you're serving. Math is your friend here.
  • Keep your juice and soda in the fridge before you start. Cold ingredients mean less ice needed and better taste.
  • Roll fresh cranberries in simple syrup first. Then coat them in sugar and let them dry completely before using.
  • Taste as you go and adjust. More juice makes it bolder. More soda makes it lighter and fizzier.
